BMW X6 II (F16) (2014 – 2019)
The new generation BMW X6 sports utility vehicle (F16) still based on the X5 model, from which it also inherited most of the body design decisions, which indicate a close relationship. However, due to the details’ nuances, the X6 looks more aggressive, as an off-road sports coupe should look like – this is how the X-six positioned. But the interior design echoes the X5. Despite the increase in size and the number of equipment, the new X6 became lighter than its predecessor. Depending on the configuration, the difference favouring the new item ranges from 10 to 40 kg. The body of the new X6 reaches 4909 mm in length (+32 mm compared to its predecessor), 1989 mm in width (+6 mm) and 1702 mm in height (+33 mm). The wheelbase of the model remains the same – it is 2933 mm. Other card features include exclusive, specially tuned transmission, suspension and steering systems, several engine options, four optional adaptive suspension packages, and the xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

With such a power plant, the X6 can accelerate to 230 km / h, and the first “hundred” of the crossover will pick up in 6.7 seconds. The xDrive40d has a power output of 313 hp (630 Nm) and wins almost a second in dynamics. The most powerful diesel modification of the BMW X6 M50d, equipped with a 3.0-litre diesel engine with three turbochargers, has 381 hp in stock. (740 Nm) and accelerates the car to “hundreds” in 5.2 s. The initial petrol version of the xDrive35i looks “livelier” than the base diesel and has 306 hp. (400 Nm), acceleration to 100 km / h in 6.4 s. The petrol version of the xDrive50i is the most powerful in the range – a 4.4-litre V8 with two turbochargers develops 450 hp. This version of the coupe-crossover accelerates to 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 250 km / h. All of these motors paired with an eight-speed “automatic”.
The chassis of the BMW X6 is “knocked down” really hard. Thanks to the sports suspension, rigid settings, the car have passenger habits, uncharacteristic for most crossovers ultimately. It is especially evident in the versions equipped with the Adaptive M suspension with a unique M Performance tuning – in this combination, the dynamic damping system and the pneumatic rear suspension allow for a sporty driving style to fully realized. With an impressive ground clearance of 211 mm, the BMW X6 makes it possible to negotiate obstacles confidently.

Also, the options offer a head-up display, a fully automatic parking assistant.
Unlike the X5, which is a classic crossover, the X6 is an off-road sports coupe. This difference is the main reason for the differences between the two models. The BMW X6 is more dynamic, stiffer and not as functional as the X5. However, the last point is relative. The crossover’s trunk volume has grown to 580 litres (+10 litres). The back of the rear seats transformed according to the 40:20:40 formula. When folded down, the luggage space will increase to 1,525 litres. Not every station wagon has such a headroom, let alone a conventional coupe.
