The official presentation of the third generation of the compact crossover BMW X3 (G01) took place in June 2017 in the USA at the BMW plant in Spartanburg (South Carolina). It is worth recalling that, already from the second generation, the model’s production was established in the States, with a significant focus on the American market, where SUVs are in high demand. The exterior and interior of the new generation BMW X3 is made in the latest iteration of the BMW corporate identity. Compared to its predecessor, the new “X-third” has increased in size, light alloys based on aluminium more widely used in the design, which allowed significant savings in weight (minus 55 kg compared to the previous model). Also, the engineers managed to achieve a 50/50 weight distribution along with the axles – this has a beneficial effect on handling and stability. The crossover has an upgraded xDrive all-wheel-drive system, which now combined with the stability control system. The third-generation BMW X3, as usual, is offered in a wide variety of modifications. As expected, in addition to traditional gasoline and diesel engines, the third-generation BMW X3 will also receive a hybrid installation.
